Le Banquet Celeste

This was recorded back when I was a teenager. It was said that hardly anyone succeeded in playing this piece of music correctly, but I was one of the few who did succeed. I like the piece a lot. I played it for one of my favorite teachers when her son passed away unexpectedly. I think it is a fitting funeral piece.

Prelude and Fugue in F Major by Johann Krebs and Aria Pastorella by Valentin Rathgeber

My dad recorded this and that I was learning some stuff about Johann Krebs as he was one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s pupils. This was attributed to Bach himself. The second piece is called Aria Pastorella by Valentin Rathgeber.

I Dreamed There was No War by The Eagles and Moonlight Sonata Movement 1 by Ludwig Van Beethoven

I would think that playing beautiful music that’s a bit slow is easy to play. I had thought of “I Dreamed There was No War” as a memory of a deceased person as well as Le Banquet Celeste. Also, someone requested me to play the Moonlight Sonata because it’s very beautiful and relaxing.

The Storm by  Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmüller

This piece is supposed to represent a big storm which some of the loud sudden parts represent thunder.

Tango from Espana by Isaac Albeniz

Although this was written for piano, I first heard this piece played on guitar. But both the piano and guitar versions sound beautiful. Someday, I might play Gershwin’s Lulluby for strings on the piano and keyboard set to guitar because the piano version reminded me a bit of Isaac Albeniz.

Chorale No. 3 in A Minor by Cesar Franck

It was said that Cesar Franck wrote this on his deathbed but he worked so hard on it and that I work so hard to play this perfectly to perform as it is a very long piece to play.

Prelude in D minor by Johann Krebs

This was taken at the time when I was getting experience at Oberlin College in Ohio.

Meditation from 24 Pieces in Free Style by Louis Vierne

This was recorded at a church in Baldwin Wallace University. This piece of music is supposed to go with meditation hence its name.

Toccata and Fugue in E minor by Johann Pachelbel

I’m thinking that most people thought that Pachelbel’s Canon in D was Pachelbel’s only known piece of music, but this one is well known as well.
